MIPCOM released a television pilot in October 2002 animated by EnSky Studios and produced by DKP Effects, and SPARX Animation Studios that was set to the early euro-dance version of the My Little Pony G3 music and the early rock-n-roll version of the My Little Pony Theme Song to promote the early TV commercials that they're going to be on television during the TV channel's commercial breaks. The television pilot only uses early CGI animation instead of the video series' traditional animation itself, and had more simplistic sets and new characters to appear later in the toy line series. Unlike the main video series, which was animated by SD Entertainment, the television pilot was animated by EnSky Studios and produced by DKP Effects. In October 2002, a 30-minute television pilot was created for the series. This is the first time that the channel aired the show. In Mini Movies, the television pilot has finally premiered in the United States on November 2002 on Playhouse Disney in-between programs. The television pilot was 30 minute animation done in LightWave 3D, Discreet 3ds Max, Messiah, Alias Wavefront Maya, Kaydara MotionBuilder, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Video Toaster, Avid DS, RealFlow, Discreet Logic Flame, Discreet Logic Inferno, Discreet Logic Lustre, Discreet Logic Smoke, and Butterfly Net Render that is the lead-in to the prototype 2D animated preview of A Charming Birthday which was later released in Septemon VHS from Mervyn's. The pilot presentation was also a bonus episode on the Canadian VHS and DVD of A Very Minty Christmas, alongside with the bonus episode on the American VHS and DVD called Dancing in the Clouds. It only airs in Canada on October 2002 on Treehouse TV.

My Little Pony G3 is the original Canadian-American CGI animated short film that was released in October 2002 at MIPCOM 2002 that was served as an original television pilot for the My Little Pony G3 franchise.
